How to Have the Most of Spring Break 2020 at Home

Ah, it might be depressing. Checking the same news on Facebook over and over again, scrolling through all Instagram posts, and imagining how nice it would be somewhere…well, anywhere but not stuck at home.

But we are where we are, and this is spring break. So, do your best to turn your social distancing experience into a never-to-be-forgotten time spent at home!

Cook Something New

Since you have enough food stashed in your fridge to get you through a week or two, it’s time to get into cooking! If your cooking skills leave a lot to be desired, today’s quarantine is your chance to learn the basics of this kitchen science.

Why not try one of the recipes of Jamie Oliver or Gordon Ramsay, if you have more experience with that? Or, perhaps, it is your chance to finally get on that healthy path? Plan your week meal and work towards your goal. Thus, whenever you get hungry, you’ll have some healthy snacks at hand.

Stay Physically Active

You’ve probably heard a lot about it but haven’t tried it yet. Believe it or not, but there are loads of different objects at your place that might become suitable for a full-body workout during self-quarantine. A gallon of water? Some unopened bottles of wine? A backpack stuffed with whatever comes handy? Without a doubt, you have a lot of items that will become a perfect substitute for your standard gym weights.

Don’t feel 100% motivated? Get your friends together on the web and try some of the virtual workout classes to enjoy your progress when the pandemic is over. Set regular sports meetings on the web to discuss your goals, failures, questions, or just share your general impressions.

Get a Hobby

Seriously, get a hobby! Spring break is your chance to choose some hobby (probably, the one you would never choose under different circumstances) or get better at it. Without a doubt, you’re already doing great in yoga or painting. However, it’s time to go for something unusual. Make sure to do something that you have always dreamed of learning, whether it’s fashion, comics creation, zoopsychology, Quidditch, or anything else.

Today, the world is full of multiple options that enable you to try something new without leaving your house. So, do your best to look up some internet classes or contact your friend for advice. Finally, keep in mind that your hobby must be a real reliever, so be sure to give up if you see that it doesn’t work for you.

Have a Movie Overdose

It doesn’t matter what you choose – Game of Thrones, Lord of the Rings, The Hunger Games, Harry Potter, or Marvel films, the options are endless! Make your living room as cozy as possible. Add some cushions, streaming light decorations, your favorite snacks (by this time, you already know how to make those, right?), and drinks. Now, enjoy your personal theater room experience!

Order from Your Favorite Restaurant

Spring break during the coronavirus pandemic shouldn’t be stopping your plans to enjoy some of your favorite dishes! Whether it is the best restaurant or café in the city or just good old McDonald’s around the corner, spring break is the time to order your favorite stuff.

Have Some “Me Time”

Being busy during your spring break 2020 is a must. However, it is the time when you can finally focus on your inner self and take time for yourself. Need to do a SPA day? Or, perhaps, you’ve already forgotten when was the last time you had your nails done? Spring break is a perfect moment to do some self-care that both your body and mind really need.

It is not a crime to put aside your books and Netflix shows for a while to just relax. So, unwind your busy day with a bubble bath. Choose your favorite nail polish color and cover your nails. Make your own face mask. Exfoliate your body for soft skin. Meditate. Just go ahead and do it. It has been a hard semester or academic year, so you totally deserve some nice treatment.

Hit Family Board Game Marathon

If at some point in your temporary social distancing lifestyle you decide to have some fun, a couple of rounds of UNO, Catan, Monopoly, Twister, or Munchkin would be a nice choice. And even if you can’t boast of having a full package of games at hand, Hide and Seek is always a good idea!

The best thing about this activity is that it includes everyone in your family, and adds some fun to your routine. For instance, you all may end up making the loser prepare some nice dinner or make a cake. Or, perhaps, you will let the winner choose the next fun or movie for the night. In other words, you all are engaged and having fun!

Let’s face it, you don’t have to go far to have a stunning spring break. No matter what happens around today, it is important for you to make this time special so that you can enjoy loads of warm memories later.

Happy home vacationing!
